Preparations for the baby

Well, it's been a while since I've posted and a lot has been going on! Nick is building a patio (picures to come) and my internship ended so I'm now a stay-at-home-mom-to-be, just to name a few. July has been a pretty hectic month for us too. We've had family in town 3 out of 4 weeks of the month, but it's been a blast! Anyway, all these things combined to make July fly by and contributed to my lack of posts. No more slacking!

So the most exciting thing we've been up to, in my opinion, is getting the nursery ready. It finally hit me that I'm running out of time to prepare so I've been working the last couple of weeks to get it done. So far we've got about half the painting done. We're going to be buying the crib in the next week or so as well. Here's a picture of the paintings I did to go above the crib. As you can see we went with an underwater sea creatures theme...

I got the idea for the paintings from a website online. An artist had something similar for sale, but he wanted $350 for a set of 3. I figured I could paint it for about $50 and decided to give it a shot. I really like the way they turned out, especially the bright colors. Although I'm sure I broke about 12 copyright laws....
Hopefully the nursery will be done soon and I'll be able to post pictures of that as well. I never thought I'd ever feel this way, but having a baby is exciting!
